Alice in Chains are currently being featured on Yahoo Music’s Maximum Performance! The band stopped by the Yahoo studios to perform an acoustic set featuring songs off the new record Black Gives Way To Blue. The band rocked through amazing acoustic renditions of their new hit single “Check My Brain”, “Black Gives Way To Blue”, and “Your Decision”. The band also sat down with Yahoo for an exclusive video interview, where the band talks about life after Layne, and their amazing re-birth with new singer William DuVall.

Mobile marketing is something I have not really had the time to check out, and I believe it’s still very early to see how it will pan out. I did however get a little taste today when trying to text message someone from the internet.

I tried to use Nextel.com but of course they only let you text to other customers. I ended up at Yahoo Mobile, which allowed my to send a message of a few lines (which I needed to do and didn’t feel like trying to type out on my phone). This saved me time. I then sent a test to my phone and within seconds, boom it was there.

Just read this post about how Yahoo is possibly working on a more-user friendly web publishing platform which in turn could increase it’s Search Marketing Solutions customers. I agree completely that if anybody out there has the ability to do this, it’s Yahoo. They currently already offer web hosting, template-based web design, and e-commerce solutions; the problem is these services either cost too much or just flat out suck. Let’s just say they are in a better position to offer better services before someone else (Google?) comes along and does it first.
