Are You a Stupid Musician? (Study Shows that You Are)
Hey everybody, it’s me, mister negativity here again. I know I’ve been quiet for a few months, and I have a good excuse. I decided to pack my bags and move on to bigger and better things.
Swamp Rockers Dance Hall Pimps Launch New Website
Check out the new site for the LA swamp rock band Dance Hall Pimps.
Add banjo to the moody organ and poetic vocals of the Doors, shake in the rock beats and riffs of the early Kinks and Rolling Stones, stir in the playful darkness of The Cramps, add a dash of the Preservation Hall horn section and indulge yourself in the swampy rockin’ good time spirit of the Dance Hall Pimps.
Stay tuned for the release of their debut album!
Contest Submission: The Taken – 4 Stars (Out of 5)
The following artist is one of the participants of the Evolvor Crowdsourced Rock Compilation Contest This review is a very quick, first impression of what we thought of their submission and the data presented in their electronic press kit.
One of the biggest perks of The Taken is their name. It’s simple, easy to remember and pretty much sums up the band’s melodic sound. I also like that they’re willing to jam with fellow Toledo, OH musicians, in addition to their core group of members. Their recorded music isn’t bad sounding for being self-produced, which makes me believe, that they’re serious about their music career.
The Evolvor Rock Compilation Contest Continues…
First, a big thanks to all the artists who submitted to the first ever evolvor crowdsourced compilation contest! While I didn’t get as many entries as I would have liked, there still was enough to make it a success as it IS the first one, so I’m happy to announce we’re doing another one – this time a rap/r&b compilation contest that starts today! (the rules have changed a little bit this time around)
