Foo Fighters Debut “Wheels” Video for Greatest Hits

It’s been a long time since Foo Fighters announced a greatest hits package. In fact, if I recall correctly, it was even before Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace was released two years ago.

It seemed that maybe the band was just talking with a hole in their mouth about such a thing, but alas, details, and a release date, have been confirmed.

The compilation will come in two editions, a standard and a deluxe.

The standard edition will include 13 classic Foo hits, as well as, two new tracks and the acoustic version of “Everlong”.

John McCain Isn’t The Foo Fighters “Hero”

John McCain may be a hero to a lot of folks, but don’t throw the Foo Fighters in that group.

Dave Grohl and company have told the McCain campaign to stop using “My Hero” at rallies. Here’s what the band had to say: “The saddest thing about this is that ‘My Hero’ was written as a celebration of the common man and his extraordinary potential”. The band also added, “To have it appropriated without our knowledge and used in a manner that perverts the original sentiment of the lyric just tarnishes the song”.

Foo Fighters on Hiatus

Photo of Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters.I just read the news that the Foo Fighters are going on hiatus. This makes me very sad.

Dave Grohl broke the news to BBC Radio One DJ Chris Moyles. So, what prompted this decision? Apparently it was the band’s two night stand at Wembley Stadium back in July, where they were joined by Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

Here’s what Grohl had to say: “We’ve never really taken a long break, I think it’s time. After doing Wembley we shouldn’t come back for 10 years because we’ve played to everybody.”
