WOMMA Blog Guidelines
The Word of Mouth Marketing Association just release “10 Principals to help companies to work ethically with bloggers“.
The list is basically set up for those who are unfamiliar with the blogosphere and helps them from getting burned. A blog can burn like a small fire, and if you pour the wrong “PR chemicals” on it, that fire can blow up in your face. If you’re thinking about trying to talk with a blogger about your company for PR reasons, read the guidelines so you don’t burn yourself.
Why I Just Deleted You From My Blog Roll
Once and a while I notice that a blog in my RSS Blogroll will have an unusual amount of posts showing unread. And as always happens, I come to find out that every post that they’ve made from that last 6 months suddenly re-appears in my inbox. Now the question I ask to you is this? Why does this happen? Is it the fault of Mozilla Thunderbird, which is my RSS reader? Or is it the feed provider (WordPress or Feedburner) that is to blame?
Online Music Blogs
Via Fred “A VC”: For being a huge music fan, I still rely on word of mouth to listen to new bands and haven’t done much online other than trying services such as Napster and Rhapsody. However, I think that may change soon with sites like the Hype Machine around, a service that showcases popular music via other music blogs. Heck, maybe it’s time I start a music blog of my own…eureka!
Blogs aren’t # 1 for breaking news? No $%#!
From Andy Beal: Click Z reports on a Lexis Nexis Survey that the majority of people turn to television news programs instead of blogs.
Of course they do. Does anybody read a blog that focuses solely on breaking news? No, because we have CNN, that’s what they do. What people do use blogs for is to find out different points of view after that news is out and more facts are learned.
Until the internet and my TV become one, CNN will always be more convenient to get breaking news from than from a website. However, when I want breaking news about something other than politics, war, murder, or Terrell Owens, where will I turn to?
