Setting Up Tweetdeck to Manage Twitter

{++}

Getting an efficient system with which to use Twiiter is essential to maximize not only your time, but also to get the most out of all their tools, resources and features. In this chapter we are going to look at Tweetdeck. I am a fan and advocate of Tweetdeck and use it 24/7 to monitor searches, my Twitter stream as well as my Facebook account. It also has the ability to plug into Myspace, which is still a very vital site for most musicians.

In this video, we look at setting up Tweetdeck columns, sending messages with the system and some of the other features that can have you up and running in no time.

Download Tweetdeck here.

To install Tweetdeck (or Seesmic Desktop, Twirhl, etc) you will need to install Adobe Air, a very sleek application that runs these programs. The download is free and painless. Air works on both Mac and PC. You can download it here:

Adobe Air

Tweetdeck, run on Air, runs as its own application and will not interfere with your browsers, tabs or other programs. I will say that it takes up quite a bit of virtual memory, so mixing a 100 track song while playing in Tweetdeck is not recommended.
