The following artist is one of the participants of the Evolvor Crowdsourced Rock Compilation Contest This review is a very quick, first impression of what we thought of their submission and the data presented in their electronic press kit.

Submission: Operation Moon Freedom

For a three-piece band, JoeSixPack is insanely good. They’re a straight forward hardcore band with disgusting guitars, thunderous drums and smooth bass-lines. It’s hard to stand out in the Austin art scene, but these guys definitely can.

My only concern about these guys is that over 85% of their fans are on MySpace. Once they ditch that place, start building a serious fan base via email and Facebook, these guys could become a force to reckon with.

    Thanks for the stellar review! We are excited to hear that you like our submission! Operation Moon Freedom itself is a song that we have had in our back pocket for a few years now, and since we put it on the EP, it has started to get some traction.

    As far as marketing is concerned, we have kept the Myspace because of the sheer number of fans we collected on there back in the day, but we have also delved into Facebook where we have over 200 fans, and Twitter where we are growing in followers all the time. We are also rebuilding our website at JoeSixPackMusic.com where we will have an email signup form for our monthly newsletter created through MailChimp. The incentive to sign up for that will be a free mp3 copy of Operation Moon Freedom off the EP.
