Major Label 2.0 Update – New Modules, News & Special Offers!!
Greetings Label 2.0 members – you might be thinking it’s been a little too quiet here in the Label 2.0 dashboard. Me and Greg have been doing so much for you guys that it took us a while to get the new modules up and running, and starting today you’re going to see them roll out.
Before we even get to the new modules, however, I want to update you on some VERY interesting developments on our end that are going to benefit you BIGTIME.
First up is some good news on one of our featured Label 2.0 members – MC Azeem. A few weeks back he was chosen to be a part of a free download promotion for the Windows Media Live website. In just two weeks the promotion got him over 5,000 downloads of the new single “Don’t Quote me”. That’s one hell of a promotion!
The good news for you is that it was his association with Evolvor.com and Label 2.0 that got him in the door, and word on the street is that another Label 2.0 artist was invited recently as well. I’ll update you on how that promotion does as it unfolds. Again, it’s connections like this that we here at Label 2.0 are going to strive to make for you guys, creating opportunities that you otherwise probably wouldn’t have.
Speaking about opportunities, I had the pleasure of grabbing lunch the other day with industry legend David Sherbow, who if you don’t know used to work for the independent promotions company that ran a little label called Def Jam’s promotions for many years. We’re talking about Jay Z here folks, and many more.
David met with me to discuss the Live Music Machine, a really innovate tool and service that’s going to revolutionize the way fans and venues book bands for gigs. I recently published a blog post about the service that I highly suggest you check out – and please get over there, sign up, and start using the service. Tell’em Eric from Label 2.0 sent you.
What’s cool is hopefully over the next few months, David will be sharing some of his expertise with us here in the members area, both regarding the Live Music Machine and about his career working in the music industry. The man has a lot of resourceful information to share.
So if that’s not enough of interesting developments, hold on to your seats. You may have noticed a new link in the “Marketing Your Videos” section in your dashboard, and I’m proud to say that this will hopefully be the first of many “deals” we here at Label 2.0 can hook up for our members.
If you’re interested in getting in front of the gamers, we have landed a cool discount on an AWESOME promotion. Only Label 2.0 members can access the info, and it’s so top-secret, I don’t even want to talk about it here. Just head on over to the following link:
Machinima – Quickly & Effectively Market an Artist or Band to the “Gamer” Demographic
The discount they are providing you guys for their service is worth an entire year subscription to Label 2.0, I shit you not.
Okay, so not that we have all the cool extras out of the way, on to the new modules. I have uploaded the first video for the new Facebook module – a brief introduction to the world’s most powerful social network. Again, it’s just an introduction, but even if you’re a Facebook veteran there’s some really cool statistics you might want to tune in and check out.
Greg’s module this month deals with launching a product in the new music business model, and here already has a bunch of tutorials up and running. We will be updating these new modules over the next two weeks, so on Thanksgiving when your little cousins won’t leave you alone, you’ll have some new stuff to check out and learn from.
We hope all of our members are happy with the new modules and the cool extras we’ve started to put together for you – it’s starting to become obvious that we’re working very hard in many departments to provide you with as many tools, resources, and opportunities that we can get our hands on – and the fun has only just started!
Live Training Call
The next Label 2.0 training call will take place on Wednesday, November 18th at 7pm EST with Chris Goyzueta, Orlando Talent Buyer. We will be going over ways to approach both booking agents and venues, what they look for, how to ask for guarantees, things they like from a promotion stand point and turn offs. Get your touring and live show questions ready, Chris is a real pro and tells it like it is.
