Scott Weiland Solo Tour, Alice in Chains To Record New Album, Oasis Attacked
Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland will be embarking on a solo tour this November and December. Weiland will be on the road promoting his second solo album Happy in Galoshes. I mentioned the release date last week, which will be November 18, but I had the title wrong. My bad. Hopefully, Scott won’t fuck up this solo tour like he did in 1998 when promoting 12 Bar Blues.
Here’s Scott Weiland’s tour dates, with more to be added:
November 11 N. Kansas City Voodoo Lounge @ Harrah’s Casino
November 12 Minneapolis First Avenue
November 14 Chicago Cabaret Metro
November 15 Detroit St. Andrew’s Hall
November 17 Boston Wilbur Theatre
November 18 New York Fillmore @ Irving Plaza
November 21 Philadelphia Theatre of the Living Arts
November 22 Washington DC Lincoln Theatre
November 23 Norfolk The Norva
November 25 Atlanta Centerstage
November 28 Houston Wherehouse Live
November 29 Dallas Granada Theatre
December 01 Denver Gothic Theatre
December 04 San Francisco Grand Ballroom
Alice in Chains will be hitting the studio next month to begin work on their first album in 13 years. In a post on the band’s official website, it was mentioned that AIC got back together in July and August “and began running through the new material and shaking off the rust”. This will be the band’s first album without Layne Staley and their first with William DuVall. If you’ve been to one of Alice’s reunion shows within the last two years then you’ve seen what William is able to do. I think he’s a great fit for the band and I can’t wait to hear the album.
Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher was pushed to the ground by a man during last night’s Oasis performance at the Virgin Festival in Toronto. The man entered from the back of the stage and pushed Noel to the ground while the band was performing “(What’s The Story) Morning Glory”. Security, and brother Liam, quickly rushed the man offstage. The band took a 15 minute pause before coming back out and performing “Don’t Look Back in Anger”, “Wonderwall”, “The Shock Of The Lightning” and the closer, a cover of The Beatles’ “I Am The Walrus”. Noel was fine and jokingly said after the show that something always exciting happens at an Oasis show. You can watch the incident right here, which is actually pretty amusing.
