I’m a big supporter of the Rhapsody music business model, and listen to most new music using the service. However, every now and then a band that I’m a big, huge fan of will put out a record and I’ll support the local record shop and actually buy the album. Such was the case with last week’s latest Foo Fighters release, Echos, Silence, Paitence, & Grace.
I’m not the most articulate reviewer out there, but have to say that even after just a few listens the album sounds great. I’m the type to not pick apart bands the way most people do; the Foo Fighters have a simple sound that always pleases my ear, and this album is right up there with the best of their work. Songs like the first single “The Pretender” and “Long Road to Ruin” are sure to be favorites on the radio, but the band backs it up on the rest of the album as well.
