Well, I never imagined the getting the response that I have so far from the posts about some of my favorite rock bands from the 90′s. Most of the response was positive, but as with any other passionate subject, their also was some negative comments. Check them out to see for yourself.

I just want to thank everyone who shared bands that they thought deserved to be on the list; I love 90′s rock and am just digging the fact that I have the power to create a little awareness for these bands some people may have forgotten about, or maybe to those who didn’t even know about them.

Lately I’ve been seeing some rather odd “new domains” in my WordPress “Slimstats.” The stats are supposed to show any new domains where traffic may have directly come from. Some of these are foreign language sites and some of these are porn sites. What gives? Any domain I visit has no sign of a link to my page on it.

This leaves me to believe that :

• Some kind of spamming technique is being used; for what or how, I do not know.
• Porn webmasters think I’m a great resource to their visitors, but are pulling the links before I get to see them.

5. Better than Ezra

Better Than Ezra made a name for itself in 1994 with the hits “In the Blood” and the ever popular “Good”. They would go on to produce hits throughout the 1990′s including songs like “Desperately Wanting” and the hit “Extra Ordinary” in 2001. Their last album, Before the Robots, was released in 2005.

4. Candlebox
Who could forget Candlebox? The band was wildly successful in 1994 with the hits “You” and “Far Behind” off their self titled album, and would only go on to record two more albums (“Lucy” and “Happy Pills”) before disappearing for a while. Word on the street is that the band is back together and set to release an album sometime this year.

Get on the video wagon baby! Good content = traffic; we know this. That doesn’t mean adding crapping boring video tutorials to your website is gonna help. Now I’m not saying my videos are gonna be the shit, but I’ve taken it upon myself to start adding a couple a week.

Were gonna be ghetto at first with in camera editing and the like, but I want to offer the world a little more interesting commentary when it comes to video tutorials and vlogging. Hopefully you’ll agree. Stay tuned ’cause next week the video explosion begins!

After many years, I’ve finally gotten my hands around a decent camera again. I call this the “beginning of the end”, and you’ll see why in the near future hear at evolvor. It just drives me nuts. That is, thinking about the potential the Internet has in shaping our lives. Take this kid for example. He can’t be any older than 12-13, and he’s on YouTube already shredding his guitar in front of millions of people.

Is he in it for fame? For money? Probably not. He’s in it because he has a passion and a talent, and he wants to share that with the world. If he keeps at it, he’s bound to have a wonderful future waiting for him when he’s ready for it.

Let’s face it; the 90′s rocked, and I mean that literally. After grunge got big in the early years, many bands came into the spotlight and then vanished by the end of the decade. They may have not been the greatest band in the world, but they gave us some great songs.

Sure, bands like Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, and Stone Temple Pilots will always be remembered for the era, but many other bands populated the airwaves as well. Bands like Live, Oasis, Jane’s Addiction, the Smashing Pumpkins, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers still get some credit they deserve. But what of the others?

Today’s post is gonna bit short and sweet: A word of advice to bloggers out there – enough of the shit talking. It seems like a good idea at first. I’ll talk shit about so and so or point out a short coming of some company in my industry to spur controversy and what not.

Yeah, you might get some traffic, might start some discussion. But once the shit-talking starts, it doesn’t stop. And then you turn into a tabloid, and you’re true readers stop caring.

Thanks To Marketing Pilgrim for finding this video about Google’s “master plan”. The reason I’m showing the video is because it does a good job of explaining how big Google is to those of us who aren’t aware. Then end does try to scare you a little, but it does have a point.

Something I’m starting to notice as of late (and a problem I pointed out last year) is certain blogs that are just producing way too much content. That’s right, I said it: too much content.
Now, I probably speak for many in this online marketing biz that spends quite a lot of time reading blogs. Most of us are reading in excess of 150-200 blogs daily. That eats up a lot of time. And when certain rather popular blogs amp up their content production, it becomes even more time consuming.

I’m obviously obsessed with early 90′s rock. This we all know. However, one of the more popular bands of the 90′s, the Smashing Pumpkins, has always been off the radar to me.

I’ve only recently begun to explore the band; I found it odd that they are back together (at least Corgan and the drummer) and are releasing a new album this July. Coincidence ? Maybe. I’m just happy to have finally gotten into them, ’cause they produced some cool stuff. Here’s the video to there hit, 1979, off the album Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
